I began consulting in the early 1990's as a part time business and engineering interest when a supplier requested I help one of their clients. I helped in the evenings and on weekends, with permission from the company I worked for at the time. It was a terrific way to do what I loved, meet new people and enable me to learn new businesses and technologies.
Advantage became a full time entity in 2001. The name came from a client who always said my services gave him the "Advantage" over competitive businesses. It sounded good and was simple and to the point.
The guiding objective of Advantage Consulting is simple, it is to be a catalyst in making companies and their employees successful. We are "hands on". I personally enjoy solving unique problems and challenges and so does my team, it is a prerequisite to working with Advantage and frankly when we do some of our best work; whether that be suiting up to improve clean room and manufacturing processes, working through regulatory items, planning how to improve and merge management teams, working through financials with the Finance Department or going into the field with the Sales force to understand their service and technical product needs. At one point, to assist a construction company, I was raised into a tractor bucket to about 20 feet above the ground to have an understanding on how to improve some of the construction opportunities and processes they were going to need to accomplish their business objectives on this large plat of land - what an experience! Business Excellence and Improvement is a passion, a commitment and a journey, but doesn't begin until you begin planning for it and taking action.
Advantage Consulting is a small business concentrating on business improvement. Susan Pignataro is the Principal Consultant. Services are provided to various company types; from those recently started or funded by Venture Capital Firms to Fortune 100 companies. We are also a proud member of the San Jose Chamber of Commerce.

Susan Pignataro
Susan has been a member of Sr. Management Teams at companies such as Royal Dutch Philips and RJR Nabisco. She has extensive experience advising Semiconductor, General Technology, Medical and Consumer Products Management Teams in many areas.
Susan and her teams have received awards for adding to corporate efficiencies, marketing successes, crisis management and teamwork, solid engineering design and saving companies millions of dollars.
Her collegiate education consists of an MBA from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD and an Engineering Degree from Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, NY. Susan has additional training and experience in areas such as Corporate Issues Facilitation and Master Black Belt Level Leadership. She is also an R.A.B Certified Quality Systems Auditor.
